Mahalo Uncle Henry!

Hello, my name is Mama, and my son is a bookaholic. Lucky for us - Jack's Uncle Henry (who lives in Hawaii and has the tendency to spoil us silly) is aware of this. Below are some pics of young JGif with the newest addtion to his library. It came in a care package addressed to Jack (he was SO excited to get mail).

Me: JACK! Guess what? You got a package in the mail. It's from Uncle Henry!
Jack: (running towards me - full steam) WHAT IS IT WHAT IS IT WHAT IS IT?
Me: I don't know! You have to open your Uncle Henry package to see what is inside.
Jack: (OH-so gently taking the package from me) Ummmmmm ..
Me: What?
Jack: Uncle Henry is IN there?????
Me: HAAAAAA!

Once I stopped laughing I explained that I was pretty sure that Uncle Henry is not small enough to fit in a large padded envelope and even if he was able to fit in there that he'd have no way of sealing the envelope from the inside and plus how would he have put himself in the mailbox?

Jack: (Looking at me like I'm nuts)
Me: No, he's not in there.

As you can see, Jack was overjoyed with what was in there.


"Yippee! Yahoo!" He said.


Then he said "I love my Uncle Henry book. I gonna give it a kiss". And kiss it he did!

A little funny for you ...

This morning when I was dropping Jack off with Mima ...

Jack: Mima can we go to Whole Foods? Please?
Mima: Well I guess so. Why do you want to go to Whole Foods?
Jack: Cause why* I need to buy some things.
Mima: Oh! Well what is it you need to buy?
Jack: I don't know yet. I have to look for things I need to buy when I get there.

A tear of pride fell gently down my cheek when I heard that. Does this kid take after his mama or what!?!?

Okay I know that doesn't quite make up for my unusually long absence - but hey, I'm trying! I have a good post coming up. Promise! And I mean that in a sincere promise sort of way. Not a "the 2006 and 2007 Christmas pictures are coming up soon!" sort of way. Altho those Christmas pictures ARE coming up soon too. Um - promise.

I leave you with the most beautiful toddler** ever to grace the Earth with his presence ...
