Yikes!

So Jack's 1968 pic from the last post came courtesy of a site called YearbookYourself.com. Upload a pic of yourself to see your face on highschool-heads-thru-the-decades!

I did Jack's year 2000 look and it scared the beejezus out of me. He looks like a real live teenager here! I call it Jack's "street" look, because the street is where he'd be living if he ever tries to wear his hair in dreads like this.
Even with icky dirty hair the boy is adorable.

Names of the week for the week before last AND last week!

Just realized I never posted last week's names of the week nor the week before last week's names of the week! (Say that run-on-sentence 5 times fast) And it's almost time to post this weeks names of the week! Sorry - been busy eating. And sleeping. And eating and eating and sleeping.

(Drumroll and all that ...)

Week before last:

Boy: Uncle Dre (after his Uncle Dre)

Girl: Jacqueline (Because there is a Jacqueline in his preschool class. And because it sounds like Jack)

Last week:

Boy: Ice cube (as in the thing that keeps your drink cold - not the guy comin' straigh outta Compton)

Girl: Giggles

Names of the week brought to you by, Jack! In 1968.

First day of preschool.

REALLY this time!

But first, let's talk about me, shall we?

I'm doing okay, thanks for asking! I am tired. So very tired. And hungry! If I'm not sleeping I am eating. Me and snacks are like totally BFFs. And I keep calling Mike names which would prove that I'm quite irritable. So in a nutshell I am mean, fat and sleepy. Yey pregnancy!

This morning MFSGif (that's me!) took JGif to his first day of preschool. As we were walking in he said to me "Mommy, I'm kind of nervous" to which I answered "You are? About what?" and he replied "I'm kind of nervous about my first day of school." Awwwww - right? Whatever - don't go feeling all sorry for him. I'm pretty sure he was just saying that b/c he saw it on an episode of The Wonderpets or something. He said it with a HUGE smile on his face and then literally ran into the building and to his classroom as fast as his feet could carry him. The boy loves school!

Here he is in all his first day glory:

Word on the street is that he was the napkin-hander-outer at snacktime today. Pretty sure that is just about *the* most important job on the job chart. That's my boy!

Baby Names of the Week!

It is once again time for Baby Names of the Week! Brought to you by .....

This guy:

In a shocking twist "Peanut Pepperglasses" has been bumped this week! Drumroll please .....

Boy: Kevin
Girl: Laurie Berkner

Ta dah!

I told Jack I had received some negative feedback from friends/family regarding the name "Peanut Pepperglasses". His reaction was as follows:

Shock and awe.

I was kind of sad to hear "Kevin" come out of his mouth this week. Peanut Pepperglasses was definitely starting to grow on me.

First day of pre-school!

Kind of.

The official first full day is next week. Today was just preview day. First we had a meet-n-greet with Jack's new teachers Miss Mary Beth and Miss Christy. They are both AWESOME and we could not be happier that they will be guiding Jack in his learning endeavors over the next nine months. The children played out on the playground for a bit while the moms and teachers socialized. Then we got to go inside and see Jack's new classroom. He's in the Koala Bear class this year. Seems like just yesterday he was a young Care Bear! What do you mean what do I mean? You know - because he was in the Care Bear class last year? Um, I DID blog about him starting school back in January, didn't I? DIDN'T I?!?!?!?

I totally don't think I ever did. What is wrong with me?! (don't answer that)

Quick sumary: Back in January Jack started pre-school at Mima and Popo's church. Took some pictures. Post 'em later.

So anway - even tho it wasn't technically the first full day of school we still needed to pick out a good outfit. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. We *almost* went with this:

Check out the face! Looks like he means it, no? Shirt compliments of Popo.

We thought perhaps it might be best to save that shirt for the second or third day of school. You know - as to not come on too strong right out of the gate. So we went with ...

SUCH a supermodel, this kid! How much do you love his shoes?

Okay more tomorrow - now I must go rest my puffy (sounds better then fat) pregnant head. I'm making an honest effort (REALLY and TRULY this time. All caps = serious business people!) to stay on top of the blog. There are so many things from the past year or that I wish I had shared. Special moments that I never got around to posting because I wanted to be able to dedicate a good amount of time to the post - but then life got in the way and the "good amount of time" never presented itself. And now it just seems that we're so far past some of those events ... and it's difficult enough to find time to blog about the things happening NOW much less devote time to blogging about a bunch of things that have happened in the past ...

WAIT.

I think I know *JUST* what we need.

To be continued ....

Names of the week

Jack's baby names of the week (drumroll please....)

Girl - Anna
Boy - Peanut Pepperglasses

Me: Oh but you picked Peanut Pepperglasses last week.
Jack: But I REALLY like that name, mommy. I want to pick it again this week.
Me: Okay but I don't even know what pepperglasses are.
Jack: WHAT? Are you kidding me? They're like this:

Alrighty then!
