Uncle Dre Dog

Saturday I took Jack to Wendy's to get some dinner on the way home from a friend's
2nd birthday party. Of course there was PLENTY of food at the birthday party (I certainly had my fill) but Jack was entirely too busy playing to be bothered to eat. I try not to do the fast food thing too often for him - but it was late and we had a bit of a drive home so Wendys it was. So we go through the drive-thru and get him a kids meal (Me: Jack what do you want? Jack: A toy. Me: No, what do you want to eat? Nuggets? A burger? Jack: A toy). The toy inside was this cute little stuffed puppy dog which Jack immediately took a liking to. I asked him what the dogs name was. He thought long and hard (when he thinks he puts his little index finger up to his little cheek and says "Hmmmm. Wet's think. Hmmmmmmm". SO cute.) all the way to pick up his daddy who we had dropped off at a friend's house earlier. The whole way there Jack is thinking (Hmmmmm) of what to name the dog. We pull up to the house and see our good friend Andreas (Dre. Pronounced like Dr. Dre. No relation.) coming out to say hello to Jack. As soon as Jack sees him he says "I KNOW! The dog's name is Uncle Dre! Just like my real Uncle Dre!". Awwwwwwww. Jack spent the weekend playing with him and insisted on bringing him to Mima's house with him on Monday morning. Before we left for Mima's Jack suggested we take some pictures of Uncle Dre Dog. You know I'm not one to turn down a photo opp!!

May I present the newest member of Jack's posse .. Uncle Dre Dog ...

Then he said "Now I hugging him. Take a picture."

Then "Can I take a picture of Mama and Uncle Dre?"

Seriously he took that picture all by himself! Pretty impressive, no!? That's actually the nicest picture of me I've seen in quite a while. (Ummm, I need bangs, don't I?) I might have to make Jack my official photographer.

And the eighth deadly sin is .. PIZZA!

Last night Mike was away in Richmond for the night on bidness. Jack and I got a little crazy while he was gone and had a make your own pizza party. I know - I know - we're totally out of control. I told Jack about our pizza party plans in the morning on the way to work. Apparently he spend a good portion of the day at his Mima's talking about it. We stopped at Harris Teeter after work to pick up some supplies and he told 2 cashiers and one Starbucks employee "I going home now to make my own PIZZA!". I tell you this event was more highly anticipated then the (now cancelled) Golden Globes!

Here is Jack pressing out his dough. Next time I'm going to teach him to do that toss-the-pie-in-the-air thing.

Spreading on the sauce ..

Sauce is FUNNY!

Here is what I got when I asked for a smile ...

Say cheese! There were about 3 inches of cheese piled up on top of this thing by the time he was done.

Ready for the oven ...

That is my Mama-sized pizza there next to Jack's. I too made it all by myself.

And the finished product. Bellissimo!

A little teamwork to cool it down ...

It was a bit difficult to get a good "eating" picture ...

Next time you're thinking about ordering pizza give us a call. We deliver in 30 days or less, and we're way overpriced. Hey, mama needs a new pair of Louboutins!

Start all over!

Jack is REALLY enjoying his new guitar. Here he is rocking out to Hannah Montana's "Start All Over". Most likely "Start All Over" are the only words that you'll be able to make out aside from a random "UNDERWEAR!" that he throws in near the end of the song. Not sure where the heck that came from as I'm pretty certain it's not an actual lyric. REMIX!

Christmanukkah 2007 - Part 5

(Okay we're working backwards here b/c part 5 pics are the only ones I have here on my computer at work.)

Jack's Christmas was more like Hanukkah as it lasted for many days. Hence - Christmanukkah! I thought I just made that word up but then I googled it. Nope - turns out it's already a real term! Well at least according to Wikipedia it is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrismukkah
("Unlike Chrismukkah, Christmanukkah is twenty days long (twelve days of Christmas and another eight for Hanukkah), and all of the days are spent receiving gifts and eating till passing out.")
Um - looks like I've already been celebrating that for years. I've always just called it "life".

So anyway Christmanukkah went a little something like this ...

Part 1:
Sunday, December 22 - Christmas Eve Eve Dinner at Aunt Sue's. Adult presents and a few Jack presents with the Gif's (Mike's side of the fam).
Part 2:
Tuesday, December 25 - SANTA! Also - Christmas Day Linner (Dammit! I thought I made that word up to but alas: http://www.unwords.com/unword/linner.html)and more Jack presents from the Giff's and a few Jack presents with the Cro's (Kelly's side of the fam.
Part 3:
Saturday, December 29 - Post-Christmas brunch at Mima and Popo's house and adult presents as well as Jack presents.
Part 4:
Tuesday, January 1 - Jack's daddy went out and got him the coolest John Deere remote control tractor. Jack and I had seen it at the store last week and it was love at first sight. I told Jack that maybe he could get it for his birthday. He continued to obsess about it for days. He told me all about "that tractor for my birthday" every morning when he woke up and reminded me about it again every night before going to sleep. Tuesday while Jack and I were grocery shopping Mike snuck up to Target and got it for him. Had it all set up and ready when Jack woke up from his nap that day. It was like Christmas morning all over again!
Part 5:
Wednesday, January 2 - Jack presents from Uncle Mike, Aunt Steph and Evan! Mima and Popo went to visit them in Philly for New Years and they brought Jack's gifts back home with them. Jack opened them in the car the second Mima gave them to me. He's SO funny opening gifts now. He says in this sing-songy voice "What is it? Dooooon't tell me it's a surprise!". Love it.

So here is Jack with his gifts from Uncle Michael, Aunt Steph and Evan. This guitar now goes everywhere with him. He brought with him when we left the house today because he insisted "I have to sing for Mima". He also hands it to me all the time and demands that I sing for him! When I'm done I always get a standing ovation. Does this kid have an ear for music or what?
Rocking out on the stairs:

Then slowing it down in the car:

Look at that serious face! Must have been a ballad or something.

A close up of his super cool army jeep sweatshirt that was also a gift from Mike and Steph. They got Evan the same one! We need to get them together soon for a picture before they both outgrow them.

He made me do his hair spikey like that today. He actually said "Mama - I want spikey hair. Let's do spikey hair". He takes this rockstar thing seriusly, no?

And playing with his rc forklift. He loves this thing and drags it around the house by the controler like it's a dog on a leash.

Check out those dirty socks!

Jack LOVES everything - thank you so much Mike and Steph! I tried to get him to call you last night to say thank you but he refused on the grounds of "I too busy playing with my new toys." Good argument young Gif. This kid is going to be the best guitar playing lawyer the world has ever seen.
