My Valentines gift to you - a post!!!!

What? I JUST started this series of posts back in November. A mere three months ago. Ok ok that's bad I know. I'm trying my best to be quicker with the posts! Ok ok I know I haven't been trying my best but I am totally thinking about trying my best to be quicker with the posts. That counts for something, right? Right!

So on day 2 of our visit a lot of stuff happened that I don't remember because it was over three months ago. Hence the reason why I need to think harder about trying my best. Luckily I have plenty of pictures to jog my memory.

There was moonbouncing ...

I swear it wasn't as dangerous as it looks.

There was more swinging. And also, weird face making.

There were chalk drawings.

Kate is all "WHAT? I totally wrote that all by myself!"

Day 2 was also a very special day as it was a very special person's birthday. MIMA! WE had a little surprise party for her that afternoon.

Mima had the best candle blower outer assistants in all the world.

This is my favorite picture of Mima in existence. She had it taken at their resort on her and Popo's trip to Jamaica last year. Stephanie was the brains behind using it for the cake. The bakery prints a copy of the picture onto edible paper using edible ink then attaches it right to the cake. Brilliant!

And yes that is a real live bird ON HER HEAD!

That evening it was time for some boardwalk fun! First up - Kate's very first boardwalk ride of her entire little life!

Her brother was there, of course, to help keep her safe. He said it was a baby ride but that he'd go so that Kate didn't have to go alone. Such an amazing brother, that JGif!

Waving to daddy.

Mike wasn't leaning over to say hi as much as he was leaning over in preparation to save her from certain doom. He was quite nervous about her being on that ride. He takes overprotective pop to a whole new level with this little girl.

After that it was time for some big boy rides.

This shot does not even do justice to how high this thing goes. The boys LOVED it and immediately got in line to ride again once it was over.

Meanwhile, Mike went on the pink elephants.

Kate went too so that he didn't have to go alone.

And what is a trip to the boardwalk without some bumper cars!?

Jack went on the swings all by himself! He did make friends with the kid in the red sweatshirt who got out of his seat and came to help Jack before the ride started when he realized Jack WASN'T STRAPPED IN! Seriously. I'm going to hope that the ride attendant would have noticed had red sweatshirt kid not noticed.

Wooo hoooooooo

The boys on the mini ferris wheel.

Steph, Noah and I went on too! But I was taking the picture ... you'll just have to trust that I was there.

I must pause here to say HOW CUTE ARE MY NEPHEWS??!!? Because I mean really - SO SO cute.

Where was Kate during the ferris wheel ride? Hmmmm ...

Boo!

You had no idea where she was, did you?

Next up was the psycho tea cups. First Jack and I went on and trust me - those things only look sweet and innocent. In reality they are PSYCHO. They went so fast that I about had a heart attack. Jack thought it was the funniest thing ever. Naturally I suggested that he and Evan ask an unsuspecting Mima, who is not a big fan of rides, to go on with them. They happily obliged.

My partner in crime, pre-ride.

Again, pre-ride. Poor Mima had no idea what she was in for.

And off they go! Check out Mima's hair doing that little woo-hoo thing.

The face of a woman who realizes she's been "gotten"!

The face of a woman who is not enjoying her time on the teacups!

If you could see me right now you'd see the face of a woman who knows she's going to be in big trouble for posting those pictures! And as long as I'm already in trouble, let me share one more. This was taken earlier in the night. I was perusing through my 1052 pictures from the weekend when KGif's adorable little pigtail in this one caught my eye. I was staring at her all lovey like when my eyes drifted to the back left of the picture - and then I was all YIPES!!!!!

The look on Mima's face here brings me back to junior year of high school. It is pretty much the exact look I received from her on the day that she got a call at work from my school counselor, Mr. Jaramillo, letting her know that due to my overactive social life, all of my grades were on a rapid decline. It is not a look you EVER want to be the reason for. I swear she wasn't mad here - I just happened to catch her unknowingly at just the right moment. It cracks me up! Um, and scares me at the same time.

After that it was back to Mike and Steph's. The babies and Evan went to bed and the adults (and Jack - for a little while) had some drinks (Jack had no drinks) outside around the fire pit. What a perfect way to end a perfect evening!

With that I shall bid you adieu until my next post - which will hopefully happen before the next major holiday.

Naughty or nice?

Merry Christmas Eve to one and all! Did you receive a special video from Santa? No? We did! Looky here:

Click me!

I, of course, got a few shots of Jack watching his video. He was skeptical at first.

His reaction upon hearing Santa address him by name.

Then when he saw that Santa had an actual PICTURE of him in his book!

This one is my favorite. Taken when the elves were putting his name into the contraption that tells you if the child has been naughty or nice. He had his fingers crossed just hoping SO hard that the verdict was nice.

This is my second favorite. Taken as the contraption declared him nice. Sweet victory!

He was so very happy.

You can also watch Kate's video here:

Click me too!

But I have no pictures of her watching because as soon as she heard Santa say her name she freaked out and ran away. Chicks!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Now get to SLEEP. Santa is coming!!!!

Christmas Card 2011

So over the weekend I took the kids out to try and get a picture for this year's Christmas card.

That was fun.

I present to you, the outtakes. PS: They were ALL outtakes.

Kate says "See ya suckers!"

The end.

Cape May Court House - day 1

Did you know that Cape May Court House is the only US town name that is 4 words long? All the fun and action-packed excitement the location holds simply could not be summed up in 2 or 3 words. And we are lucky enough to be related to the most fun and action-packed family residing there! Uncle Kookle, Aunt Steph Evan and Noah! Yey!

We had been trying to get there over the Summer (CMCH is approximately 4 and 1/2 miles from the beach. Jersey Shore baby!) but one thing or another kept us from getting there. We finally made it up for a weekend in early October. We arrived Friday while Evan was still at school. Here we are waiting for him to get off the bus.

And he arrives - YEY!

There were hugs all around immediately followed by a race to the swing set. They have the coolest swing set/club house in existance. And they bought it from the AMISH! You know how I feel about the Amish! Swoon!

See? Beautiful. Or as the Amish would say, "Ahhh is gut, jah?" I do a mean Amish impression. Comes across way better in person.

The boys swinging the day away.

Kate was all "WAIT for me!!!"

And the best cousin in the world, Evie Evie, hung out with her while she did some swinging of her own.

Then he had to ditch her for a top secret boyzzz meeting in the clubhouse.

You might notice we are down one cousin during this time - Noah was napping!

That evening we hit Coconut Cove for dinner. They have an amazing outdoor dining area that is pretty much all sand - just like eating on the beach! Unfortunately since it was off season what they did not have was food. They were still open - still serving delicious drinks - just no food. So we ordered up some delicious drinks and the Mikes went and picked us up some take out! And yes we ate it right there at Coconut Cove. Gotta love the shore!

Here are Popo and Kate taking a little stroll whilst waiting for dinner to arrive.

And then she took a walk with Mima. And by "walk with" I mean "run from". I just love this picture because it is SO Kate. You can tell Mima is scolding her for something and you can tell that Kate just thinks its the most amusing thing ever.

All the while Noah was hanging out being the cutest EVAH.

Then he had to break for refreshments - being THAT cute makes a kid thirsty!

Mike and Kate provided our entertainment for the evening.

You just can't keep this girl off the dance floor.

Jack and Evan had no time for dancing as they were busy playing "drag your cousin in the sand".

After the dragging comes the hugging.

And after the hugging comes the completely insanely unbearable cuteness.

And after all that cuteness I need to rest. Day 2 to come!
